Climate Change vs Global Warming

Hi everyone!

I would like to share with you guys an interesting article which explains the differences between climate change and global warming. That article can be found at http://www.grinningplanet.com/2007/01-02/global-warming-vs-climate-change.htm

Well, do you guys know the difference between climate change and global warming? If your answer is yes, then congratulations! Most people usually use both of these terms interchangeably as if it carries the same meaning. Actually, it doesn't! Therefore, we as environmental students should really know how to distinguish these terms.

Basically, global warming refers to the increasing global temperature. It is measured by taking the mean average temperature on the entire surface and compares it over time. Global warming is a part of climate change.

Climate change on the other hand refers to the earth's climate that differs from the expected norm. It refers to not only the temperature, but also the changes in regional conditions such as the amount of precipitation, hours of daylight, air pressure and winds, and also storm events.

So, that's it! I hope you guys can get benefits from the article!

  1. hi jesica
just i have some information about global warming and climate change so let me share with aboutted.

Climate change: a comprehensive definition: The problem and solutions
Climate change is happening now is a real problem is compounded exponentially. But the problem can be avoided because we are caused by others and no one can stop it.

    What is climate change?

Climate change is a disruption in the normal climatic conditions such as temperature, wind patterns and rain figures that characterize each region on the ground.

What are the causes of climate change?

Climate change happen because of human activity to raise the rates of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which has become locked up more heat. The more human societies, lifestyles and more complex depending on the machines needed to more energy. The high demand for energy means burning more fossil fuels (oil - gas - coal) and thus increase in the rates of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Thus contributing to exaggerate the capability of human beings in the natural greenhouse effect to capture the heat. Greenhouse effect this amplifier is cause for concern, it is liable to raise the temperature of the planet with unprecedented speed in the history of mankind.

What are the consequences of climate change?

Climate change is a slight difference in weather patterns. Vdrjat temperature will lead to a worsening climate as patterns in the types of weather, wind and rain figures the amount and types in addition to several types and frequency of extreme climatic events possible. Climate change in this way can lead to serious environmental, social and broad economic impact can not be predicted. Some of the potential consequences are as follows:

    1. Loss of stock water
    2. Fall harvest: shrinking food stocks.
    3. Declining soil fertility and exacerbating erosion:
